A word about our week:

We completed our vignettes and they are posted on the bulletin board for all to see. We also wrote concrete poems this week. A concrete poem is a poem in which the words create the shape of the object we are writing about.

We learned a lot of new math concepts. We were introduced to fractions, mean, median, mode and range and are had fun working in math rotations and playing games to reinforce those concepts.

In science we are learning about the 6 simple machines. We will begin to create and build our own simple machines in the upcoming weeks to have on display at the Achievement Fair.

A word about our week:
We were fortunate to have the first-time-ever Mrs. Greenberg 3rd grade special writer's workshop! She came to our class on Monday & Wednesday this week to help us with writing vignettes. Each student selected a special time or memory to write about.

We are finished with our biographies and will be starting our final big 3rd grade project: simple machines! Biographies and simple machine projects will showcased at the Achievement Fair in May.

Our room has been a bit chilly so I suggest your child bring a sweater or hoodie to keep warm.
