Friday, 4/19-Friday, 4/26

I am not assigning homework this week. I  hope that your children rest, enjoy their weekend, read good stories & talk about them and practice math facts. Only graded papers and classwork will come home in the HI folder this week. They can still review the word stems as we will resume Language Studies after next week.

Monday, April 22 is the Ohio Reading Achievement Assessment. Only students who missed the October test or did not pass will be taking the test on Monday. All other third graders will have a regular schedule with Moreh Dror & Morah Eva. I will be administering the test in the morning.

Wednesday, April 24 is the Ohio Math Achievement Assessment. All third graders will take this test. I will be there in the morning to administer the test and they will have time with Morah Eva in the afternoon.

The best test preparation is always rest and a good breakfast. I provide pencils and erasers. Please be sure your child is dressed comfortably and is wearing layers so he or she can put on a sweater should the room be too cold, or take one off should it be too warm for him/her. Comfort, rest and a full belly go far during test taking.

In science we are creating our engineering project which is based on simple machines. Your child may be scrounging around the house for bottle caps, cans, empty thread spools, etc... These secret gems will work as wheels, pulleys and other simple machines to create the masterpiece that they will reveal to you at the Achievement Fair on Wednesday, May 1.

Friday, April 26 is a dress down day.
