Friday 1/25- Friday 2/1

Bingo reading challenge:
Hello, all!
I really didn't expect the kiddos to get into the books and finish quite so quickly. There are yellow summary sheets with activities on the back to complete. I will go over these next week and we will have mini lessons over genre & point of view! Your child is welcome to complete these in reading class, and I have time on Th and Fri to help individuals with their questions.

SCIENCE:
yes, we have a quiz on Wednesday about natural resources. but it's easy-peasy. open note. do. not. stress.

Language Studies:
There is a slight change in the assignment this week. Students have one spelling handout to complete and then 2 choices from the tic-tac-toe board.

spelling words: 
spelling rules:

-when a one syllable word ends in a vowel consonant, double the consonant before adding –ing        
 -when a verb ends in a silent e, drop the e before adding -ing                                                
-when a word ends in one vowel followed by a consonant, double the consonant and add -ed

Continue to practice basic addition & subtraction facts. We have also started multiplication x0 & x1. We will begin x2 & x5 next week. 

Science: 
We are almost finished with our unit on natural resources, recycling and the human impact on the Earth. We will have a quiz over this material by Th 1/31. Unless this conflicts with Judaic & Hebrew lessons. I will update you accordingly.
